The CCSC Head Coach is a contract staff position, approved by the CCSC Board of Directors, to guide the daily operation and practice sessions of the club. The Head Coach is registered with USA Swimming, has a background check, and maintains required certifications as needed. The Head Coach is entrusted with the responsibility of leading practices, registering swimmers for swim meets, swimmer level evaluations and promotions, communicating with the parents of swimmers, enforcing the Code of Conduct and discipline policy, and directing Assistant Coaches and Junior Coaches.

CCSC Assistant/Junior Coaches are paid coaches, registered with USA Swimming, have completed background checks (18 yrs. of age and older), and maintain required certifications. Junior Coaches must be at least 16 years old. Assistant/Junior Coaches are hired by the Head Coach and approved by the Board of Directors. All Assistant/Junior Coaches work under the direction and guidance of the Head Coach.

The CCSC Board of Directors consists of five elected members, who serve a one-year term, effective August 1 – July 31. The five positions include: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Member-at-Large. Board members are registered with USA-Swimming and have completed background checks. Board members are unpaid volunteers and are responsible for the financial and operational management of CCSC. Elections for the Board of Directors takes place at the Annual Members meeting, held in July. A full description of Board members’ responsibilities and policies is available in the CCSC Bylaws. Copies of the CCSC Bylaws are available upon request. The CCSC Board of Directors meets quarterly, bi-monthly, or as needed. Parent Meetings are held as necessary throughout the season and parents are encouraged to attend these meetings.

We ask that all parents consider ways to be more involved in the life of CCSC by joining one of our Committees. Our committees help us share the workload of our coaches and volunteer Board of Directors. Committees include:

Social Committee - help plan parties, birthday recognitions, decorate our bulletin board, create goodie bags and plan other special surprises for the swimmers and coaches throughout the season.

Fundraising Committee - help plan and promote fundraising campaigns that help us pay for parties, fun swag items for our swimmers, and the purchase of training equipment.

Safe Sport Committee - stay current on all Safe Sport guidelines and recommendations, and help with their implementation when feasible. Encourage all parents and swimmers to complete the online Safe Sport education offered through USA-Swimming. Achieve and maintain Safe Sport Club recognition from USA-Swimming; and create or update the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy, following USA-Swimming guidelines.
